About the project:
Todo Bien is an original musical comedy that explores anxiety through humour, music, and satire. Set in the waiting room of a psychologist’s office, it follows two strangers competing for a single therapy session, using eleven original songs to challenge thestigma surrounding mental health and question the culture of toxic positivity.
Concept:
Beneath its playful aesthetic, Todo Bien reflects on the pressure to remain positive in a society that often oversimplifies mental health. Through satire and emotional honesty, the musical exposes the limits of toxic positivity, encouraging a more open and compassionate conversation around anxiety and the experiences of those living with it.
Proposal:
The scenic design translates this contrast into a playful visual world inspired by the language of self-help culture and exaggerated optimism. A minimalist waiting room becomes the canvas for bold colours, graphic elements, and adaptable scenic devices that support the musical numbers while gradually revealing the artificiality behind the optimistic façade. The result is a visual environment that reinforces both the comedy and the emotional vulnerability of the story.
