CIA Afflictus self-created project
Directed by Bruna Artigal & Adrià Andreu
Theatre Barts Club & Theatre of Raval, Barcelona

About the project:

Let Me Down Slowly is the second original theatre production by Cia. Afflictus that explores contemporary perspectives on love, intimacy and emotional vulnerability. Building on the company’s previous work, the piece questions traditional ideas of romantic relationships through a personal and collective reflection, creating a theatrical journey that blends fiction, autobiography and live performance

Concept:

The scenographic proposal reflects the idea of love as something fluid rather than fixed. Instead of illustrating specific locations, the design creates a poetic urban landscape where different stories and relationships coexist. Light, costume and space work together to support a theatrical language that moves between intimacy, memory and emotional transformation.

Proposal:

The project was conceived as a multidisciplinary environment where scenography, lighting, costume, sound and live audiovisuals become part of the same narrative. A flexible spatial composition allows the performance to shift seamlessly between fiction and personal testimony, reinforcing the play’s exploration of vulnerability, friendship and alternative ways of understanding love.
