Llum Barcelona Festival 2021
1st PLACE IN THE CONTEST in the school category

About the project:

Cara B is a performative light installation created for the 2021 Llum Barcelona Festival.
Developed as a collaborative project between some of my student colleagues from Institut del Teatre, the installation uses humour and audience participation to question visibility, spectacle and the social dynamics of public space.

Concept:

The proposal reflects on exhibitionism and the need to be constantly seen. Inspired by the social context surrounding the festival, the installation transforms the act of taking photographs into a performative gesture, using satire to comment on visibility, precariousness and collective behaviour.

Proposal:

A sculptural mascot occupies the space as both performer and spectator. Visitors are invited to photograph the installation, gradually revealing hidden details through strategically placed flashes and lighting effects. The interaction between light, audience and space becomes the project’s central narrative device.
